美丽莲是一种让人“越看越上头”的小型莲座多肉：灰白带粉感的叶片边缘自带一圈干净的白边，整株紧凑又利落。平时它安安静静像个小雕塑，但一到开花就很会“整活”——从莲座中心抽出细长、会分叉的花茎，顶端开出一朵朵星形粉花，有人说像小狗的脸，远看就像小烟火在空中炸开。把几盆并排放在光线好的窗台上，观赏效果会明显加倍。
