蜀葵（Alcea rosea）是锦葵科蜀葵属的高大开花植物，也是少数以“蜀”命名、在中国流传极久的传统名花之一。它的花朵又大又艳，红、粉、紫红、白、黄到近黑紫都常见，单瓣、重瓣都有；花序沿着直立的高茎一路往上开，常在端午前后进入盛花，因此民间也叫“端午花”。在花量最旺的时候，从下到上层层开放，远远看就像给花园竖起一根华丽的“花柱”，也因此得名“一丈红”。既能做庭院主景，也能切花瓶插，还兼具一定的食用与药用传统用途。
